Standing in the shadows, Riley was completely invisible; A perk of being a shadow demon. Even in his human form he could easily control the element of darkness, creating it and utilizing it. Rithudel, the Lord of Shadows. The name was feared across the continent, even the world. He was the creature that parents warned their kids about on Halloween. He had murdered thousands, consumed entire cities in darkness for days on end and even stolen the souls of those who were foolish enough to make a deal with him. Nothing could stop him, save for the demons who where stronger than him. Riley was only a Lord, and in the demon world, that left Dukes and Arch-Dukes as well as Lucifer himself above him in rank and strength. Riley wasn't even lucky enough to be in command of his own soul, but then again, very few demon's were. If your soul wasn't owned by a higher demon, it was sealed away in Lucifer's volt.

Keeping close to the walls so to stay hidden, Riley watched the crowds go by. It was late, 11 pm to be exact. Shops had all closed for the night and the Holy Sin was really one of the only open businesses still open. Ah, the Holy Sin, the condemned Church turned into a Strip Club Brothel. It was a beautiful thing. But Riley wasn't there to take part, in fact, he wasn't even there to find a victim. No, Rithudel the Lord of Darkness was a past life, Riley stood for something more noble these days. A noble demon, was that even a real thing?

He checked the people as they passed him, one by one confirming their race. Vampire, human, werewolf...demon? He knew all the scents perfectly. In and out, the city folk moved past him to and from the Holy Sin, never even suspecting that someone was watching them. There was once a time that Riley would have mocked and killed any demon that tried to be something good. But now, now he questioned it all. Nothing had been the same since he met that young girl. And he would be damned if he was going to go back to his old ways.. how ironic.

This had become his normal life. Watching the people and stepping in as a dark stranger when something bad was about to happen. He knew it wouldn't change anything. Hunter would still track his movements and parents would continue to spread the Lore of his sinful deeds, but he didn't care. Riley sought a redemption much higher than that of a mortal. He sought redemption from God himself. Now there was a concept that few could understand. A Demon actually wanting God to notice him. Riley liked his life here. It was quiet, for the most part, and the hunters here hadn't caught on to his presence. But that could easily change. The more demons that moved in, the more hunters the city attracted. Riley couldn't let that happen. Demon's hunting in the outskirts of town was one thing, but not in the down town. Not on his watch. Looking through his darkened hiding place he spotted something he didn't like. A stalking demon moved through the streets. He was hunting, it was easy to spot. His hunched back, twitching fingers. He was looking for dinner and Riley wasn't about to let that happen.
